I am an Iowa-licensed, board-certified family nurse practitioner. I obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology from Loras College. I started out my career in a social work-type role in helping people with chronic mental illnesses. After seeing the need for psychiatric care and the delay of treatments because of limited availability, I returned to nursing school at Kirkwood. Then, I advanced to the University of Iowa, where I earned a master's degree in nursing. All combined, I have over 20 years of experience in inpatient and outpatient settings in the mental health field.

My role is to assess mental health needs, diagnose, and educate about available treatments for all ages. My goal is to provide holistic, patient-centered care through collaboration and the use of evidence-based practices. I provide a combination of medication management and therapy to meet each person's individual needs.
