Jennifer Bradley

ARNP, PMHNP-BC

I am a Board-Certified Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, independently licensed in the State of Iowa. I have worked in Psychiatry for 30 years in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. These settings have included: inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, outpatient psychiatric care, emergency department crisis services, assertive community treatment (ACT), and adult forensics. I primarily focus on the care of adults with a wide range of psychiatric illnesses. My specialties include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, thought disorders, ADHD, and substance use disorders.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 1995 and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 2002. I am certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). I have also been a Clinical Professor at Drexel University in the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program since 2016.

My practice is structured around a comprehensive, patient-centered approach that begins with an in-depth psychiatric evaluation. Detailed history and current symptoms are used to arrive at an accurate diagnosis. Using evidence-based pharmacological strategies, appropriate medications will be prescribed, and efficacy and side effects will be closely monitored. Brief, focused therapy is also used to address specific symptoms and challenges while integrated with medication management to provide synergistic benefits.

My approach to psychiatric care is rooted in evidence-based practice, emphasizing scientifically validated treatments that are tailored to the unique needs of each individual. I believe that optimal mental health outcomes are achieved through collaborative relationships—both with patients and within the interdisciplinary care team. I actively engage patients as partners in their treatment, ensuring they are informed, empowered, and involved in decision-making. By fostering open communication and integrating medical, psychological, and social perspectives, I strive to deliver holistic care that enhances functioning, improves quality of life, and promotes sustained recovery. My focus remains on measurable outcomes, using validated tools and regular reassessment to guide treatment adjustments and ensure progress.
